At BitNorth, I demo'ed and talked about iPhone music creation applications. Post-BitNorth, there was an epic sadness when it transpired there were no recordings of my talk. In the interests of the perpetuation of the iPhone as a musical instrument.
- The Entertainer - As played on the Ocarina. Not including it would have been strange d:
- Spaced - New Instrument! Touch screen is used to control pitch and timbre, software controls the quality of sound.
- Thingity - Assisted music. The software helps with drums (controlled by shaking the phone), and less so with bleepage (controlled by touching the screen).
- Itermittent Intermission - Reactive music. But with Ukulele as the source of sounds, rather than the Very Secret* sources of sound for Weather, weather.
- Splash - Nodes in a sound field interact to make sounds.
- Weather, whether - Reactive music. The sound that is produced is a function of sound picked up by the microphone.
- Blepblepblep - Fakery drum machine (: But less with drums and more like beeps.
- The Happiest Robot - Okay, okay. This isn't music. It sounds like a robot talking, and sometimes laughing, at least to my ear. If you can't hear it, you just need to imagine a little harder.
* Not that secret. I would probably tell you if you asked.
